Amazonas garden furniture is loved, cherished and cared for and again and again we get the question: "What can I do so that I have a great and fresh looking product for as long as possible?" Not much needs to be done, we've taken care of that but a few tricks for you.
How to care for your AMAZONAS wooden frames properly
The FSCTM-certified wood of AMAZONAS garden furniture is impregnated in a dip bath in one production step. This extends the natural product life cycle to approx. 10-15 years. This can be further extended by impregnation (glaze, oil, wax, etc.). These glazes are mainly used to refresh the appearance.
Our care tips for your FSCTM-certified garden furniture
- Glaze the spruce parts of the frame regularly (at least 1x per year) with a wood preservative glaze. (Please ask your local supplier).
- Do not use any cleaning agents containing solvents for cleaning the frame surfaces. Please clean only with water or detergent additives.
- The connecting parts of the frames are protected against corrosion for many years by a zinc coating. If, contrary to expectations, corrosion should occur, please be sure to coat with anti-corrosion paint.
If you are the type "I forget something quickly", or "furniture care is not my thing", we recommend you in any case a Rain Cover for your garden furniture, so you do your product is treated carefully in the warm garden months.
What do I do with my garden furniture, frames and cushions in winter?
In winter, take the garden furniture out into the dry. Let the agora upholstery dry well and shake it out before folding. This way you avoid mildew stains. Store the wooden parts in a cool and dry place. Remove dust and dirt beforehand to prevent discoloration on the surface. Also ensure sufficient air circulation during storage. Wood lives :)
